A Holistic Therapeutic Approach
At Discover Me Psychology, I offer a range of evidence-based services to support individuals. I work collaboratively with clients and their families to develop personalised treatment plans that are tailored to their unique needs and goals. Just as each of us is unique, so too is your therapy. As a result, the specific approach I adopt will depend on your requirements. Often, a few different techniques are used to explore your situation as therapy unfolds.
I create an authentic space for my clients to feel safe enough to share their stories and utilise interventions that are based in attachment theory, somatic therapy and the neurobiology of behaviour and trauma. My interventions are largely grounded in psychodynamic therapy with formulations and drawing upon family and systems therapy, CBT, solution focused therapy, existentialism, somatic therapy and mindfulness techniques with an important element to focus on the body and tune in to what you may be experiencing.
Introducing what is happening in your body in sessions can reconnect us with experiences that shape our ongoing experience of life and the patterns that while are often useful in life and serve to protect us, but we also acknowledge that they often keep us stuck.
